President’s Address

Well we are in the home stretch for the 2007-2008 year and the NJ Section has continued to provide excellent and diverse technical presentations at the Monthly Meetings with one more presentation to go.  In case you were not able to attend the meetings, we covered the topics of Delay & Damages, Risk Management in the Power Industry, Risk Management and Value Engineering on Mega-Projects and using Pertmaster software, the Trans Hudson Express Tunnel, and Catalytic Reduction technology.

We have also conducted a panel presentation to the students at NJIT and have one presentation remaining, which will be on managing a Capital portfolio. To further confirm the quality of the technical presentations arranged by the NJ Section, two of the presentations given to the NJ Section appeared on the program for the Project Management Institute College of Scheduling Annual Conference held on May 5-7, 2008 in Chicago. This validates the efforts of the NJ Section’s Board of Directors to attract top industry talent to our meetings to promote the membership’s professional development.

On a final note, the New Jersey Section is seeking more volunteers as nominees for Board of Director positions. I know that several current Directors have already volunteered to continue on the Board.  I hope that some new members will consider volunteering to fill a Board position so that we can ensure the continued success of the NJ Section.

.

Regards,
