April 2008 Meeting Recap:

The seventh meeting of the 2007-2008 year for the New Jersey Section was held on April 15, 2008 at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, NJ. This was the Section’s “Student Night” and our efforts to reach out to the upcoming and current professionals to demonstrate the advantages and resources available to engineering communities under the discipline of Cost engineering. The attendance was great with more than twenty-five students and professionals. Pizza all around, good questions and hopefully some good professional experiences were offered throughout the evening.

Section President, John Ciccarelli, opened with an overview of the AACEi organization and objectives as well as some detail of the New Jersey Section. He explained the 5,500+ world wide professional members were dedicated to fostering the understanding and development of Cost Engineering and management professionals world wide. John also reviewed the organization’s vision and mission to be the recognized technical authority in cost and schedule management and to provide technical programs, research, practices and professional development through technical products, continuing education and certifications.
